5 Things To Do In Memphis This Weekend: 7/24 – 7/26

Happy Friday, Memphis! Here are the five things you won't want to miss this weekend. 

1. Fright Night Double Feature, Orpheum Theatre, Friday, 7 p.m. – 11 p.m., $7, 18 and up
Catch two classically freaky flicks at the Orpheum: Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th. To see the entire Orpheum Summer Movie Series lineup, go here.

2. Zigadoo Moneyclips St. Jude Benefit, Found Studio, Friday, 9 p.m. – 11 p.m., $5, 13 and up 
Zigadoo Moneyclips, The Band of Ooo, Other Stories & The Aquaducks come together to use the power of music to help in the fight against childhood cancer. Proceeds from the concert will go to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

3. National Dance Day, Overton Square, Saturday, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., all ages, free
Head to Overton Square plaza on Saturday and get moving with Ballet Memphis for National Dance Day. Instructors will teach the choreography for the official National Dance Day dance, which will then be preformed flash mob style. 

4. Rock 'n' Wild Picnic, Memphis Farmer's Market Pavilion, Saturday, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., $15 – $30, all ages
Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy pizza from Rock 'n' Dough, wraps by So Fresh, wine and beer. A $30 ticket includes food and four drink tasting tickets for beer and wine; if you're not drinking or underage, the $15 ticket includes food and live music from The Three Kings.

5. 27th Annual WEVL 89.9 Blues on the Bluff, National Ornamental Metal Museum, Saturday, 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. $20 adv./$25 at the gate, all ages
Bring a chair and some friends to WEVL's annual Blues on the Bluff concert at the Metal Museum. There will three live bands (Lightnin' Malcom, Garry Burnside Band, and Elmo and the Shade) a silent auction and Central BBQ, Schlafly Beer, and wine for sale. Proceeds benefit Memphis' only volunteer radio station.

If you're looking for more to do this weekend, check out Jams on Beale tonight at Handy Park at 6 p.m. with bluesmen Kingfish Ingram and Garry Burnside (free) or new food trucks Sushi Jimmi and MemPop at Memphis Made taproom tonight. 

On Saturday night the Dixon will host a free "Art of Camping" event for families with camping tips, snacks, art projects, and stargazing from 5 to 8 p.m. There's a benefit concert for local celeb bartender Brad Boswell at 6 p.m. at the Bucc. 

Finally, indulge your 90s rock nostalgia on Sunday with Toad the Wet Sproket reunion concert at 7 p.m. at Minglewood Hall.
