It's that time again – voting is open in Memphis' most legit reader's poll. Assignment #193 in the 365 Things to Do in Memphis is to cast your ballot for the Memphis Flyer's Best of Memphis.
I look forward to the Memphis Flyer's annual poll every year. It just seems much more democratic and legitimate than a lot of polls. If you want to hear more about the Best of Memphis, check out this interview with Memphis Flyer Editor Bruce VanWyngarden.
Here are a few things to know before you vote:
1.) You have to fill out at least 50 percent of the ballot in order for it to count, and you can only vote once.
2.) There are drop down menus with some popular nominees, but if you've got a better candidate, you can write your answers in the blanks provided. (Speaking of those blanks, I really wish that the Flyer would go back to publishing the funniest write-in answers.)
3.) Please – and this is a personal request – vote local. This is the Best of Memphis poll, not the Best Stuff You Can Find Anywhere poll. In short, please don't vote Olive Garden for best Italian or Starbucks for best coffee.
4.) If you love I Love Memphis, you could show a little love in the Best Blog, Website, Twitter, or Instagram categories. It would be most appreciated. You will have to write it in when you get to those categories (see screenshot below for example).
